Leota Cook
Thank you Leota Cook for being Meeker’s Citizen of the Month for April. Leota is a tremendous asset to our community and “works circles around all of us!”
Leota and her husband Jim bought the Herald Times newspaper company in 1964 and owned and operated the company until the early 1990’s. She is very involved in the community and the Meeker United Methodist Church where she serves on several committees and always picks up friends to get them to church. Leota takes the time to visit people in the community and delivers meals to them. Until recently, she has sang at the Walbridge Wing every week. Thank you Leota for being a positive influence in our community!
Citizen of the month is nominated by the public. If you have someone to nominate please let us know. Check out the Meeker Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and newsletter for this citizen to be announced each month. The citizen of the month is someone who finds ways to help around the community and makes Meeker a better place to live.
