The Meeker Chamber of Commerce has a mission to strive to represent, advocate, and encourage the development of businesses and our community by implementing responsible economic development, business retention and tourism programs while being a positive liaison between businesses and government. This is accomplished through three main avenues: 1) business retention, expansion and attraction 2) Chamber membership and 3) tourism and community development.

Our Board meetings are open to the public on the second Wednesday of the month at Kilowatt Korner at 5:30pm

Our Board of Directors and Staff

The Meeker Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors consists of seven members who speak as one voice to achieve the Chamber’s mission. These are volunteers from the community who are leaders and advocates for strong business and tourism growth in Meeker. If you are interested in joining the Chamber board please contact us.

Diana Jones – President

Diana enjoyed spending her childhood summers in Meeker, so in 2009 she moved her family to Meeker, where she and her husband Mike opened Meeker Drugs. She also recently opened the Meeker Coworking Community. Diana stays busy with her two daughters. Diana was elected to the Board of Directors in 2011.

Jan NyeJan Nye- Vice President

As the owner of Prescriptions Salon & Spa, Jan has been a successful business person in Meeker over 10 years. She is devoted to this community and her primary goal is for our business community to thrive.

 

 

Kitty Clemens- Treasurer

Kitty Clemens is a business development consultant for Destination Strategies. She relocated to Meeker in 2017 after a 20-year career in hospitality, travel and tourism marketing, and economic development for mountain communities in Colorado and Montana.

 

Sabine Murray 

Sabine is the Branch Manager for Bank of the San Juans and has been employed with the bank for 10 years. After having moved all over the United States with her military husband, she fell in love with Meeker, which still has the small town feeling and attitude. We welcomed Sabine to the board in 2018, who says “I think it’s important to give back to the community in any way that I can.”

 

Alex Plumb

As the Broker / Owner of Alpine West Properties Real Estate, Alex continuously promotes the Meeker community in every real estate transaction. Alex joined the board in 2018 and is committed to firming up our local economy while supporting all business growth.

 

Cheryl Houser

Relocated to Meeker, Co from Buena Vista, Co in 2005. Cheryl spent 14 yrs as a board member with the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce and also owned a lodging business. Since moving back she has been working at WREA for 13 years and is the Owner of Bear Mountain Inn along side her Husband Dale, Son Toby & Fur Kid Molly. Cheryl enjoys spending time with her Grand Children and attending all the sporting events they are involved in. Cheryl also loves serving others in our community in any way she can.

Marie Hooks 

Marie has lived in Meeker for 6 years and is the Employment Specialist with the Rio Blanco Workforce Centers, Colorado Dept of Labor – Marie assist job seekers in finding work and develop their workforce skills. She also assist employers with human resource needs which includes job postings, applicant screening, and pre-employment assessments. She dedicates her time to helping increase the sustainability of Rio Blanco citizens. And will contribute to the Community through the Meeker Chamber board. 

 

Advisory Board Members

Kim Colflesh

Kim has been on the Meeker Chamber Board of Directors from 2006 to 2017. She is now on the Advisory Board. Kim’s strong background in finance and customer relations makes her an excellent member of the board. Kim is a Colorado native and has lived in Meeker since 2005. Kim does small bookkeeping jobs for local businesses and enjoys the small town and rural lifestyle of Meeker. She also assists her family on their cattle ranch near Rifle, Colorado.

 

Our Staff

stephanieStephanie Kobald

Stephanie has lived in Meeker since 1999 and has been the Executive Director for the Chamber since 2013. She brings her strong creativity, marketing, graphic design, communications, public outreach, and relationship building skills to the organization. She manages the Main Street Program for Meeker and also serves our community as a Board member of the Meeker Arts and Cultural Council, and HopeWest Meeker. In her free time, she likes to hike, yoga, snowshoe, and canoe.

Ann Franklin

Ann is the Program Assistant for the Chamber. Ann grew up in Meeker on her family’s ranch. She has had the good fortune to travel to many places around the world, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.  Ann has an undergraduate degree in rangeland ecology and a masters in agriculture. Her passions lie in sustainable community development through the integration of rural and urban values. She strives to provide opportunities for youth to travel through her work with foreign exchange students and international ecology trips for local high school students. ann@meekerchamber.com
