The Meeker Chamber of Commerce has a mission to strive to represent, advocate, and encourage the development of businesses and our community by implementing responsible economic development, business retention and tourism programs while being a positive liaison between businesses and government. This is accomplished through three main avenues: 1) business retention, expansion and attraction 2) Chamber membership and 3) tourism and community development.

Our Board meetings are open to the public on the second Wednesday of the month at Kilowatt Korner at 5:30pm. If you would like to join via Google Meets please let us know and we will send you the link.

Our Board of Directors and Staff

The Meeker Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors consists of seven members who speak as one voice to achieve the Chamber’s mission. These are volunteers from the community who are leaders and advocates for strong business and tourism growth in Meeker. If you are interested in joining the Chamber board please contact us.


Marie Hooks – President Board Term September 2019- September 2022

Marie has lived in Meeker for 6 years and is the Employment Specialist with the Rio Blanco Workforce Centers, Colorado Dept of Labor – Marie assists job seekers in finding work and develop their workforce skills. She also assists employers with human resource needs which includes job postings, applicant screening, and pre-employment assessments. She dedicates her time to helping increase the sustainability of Rio Blanco citizens and will contribute to the Community through the Meeker Chamber board. 

Cheryl Houser – Vice President Board Term March 2019- September 2021

Relocated to Meeker, Co from Buena Vista, Co in 2005. Cheryl spent 14 years as a board member with the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce and also owned a lodging business. Since moving back she has been working at White River Electric Assoc for 13 years and is the Owner of Bear Mountain Inn alongside her Husband Dale, Son Toby & Fur Kid Molly. Cheryl enjoys spending time with her Grand Children and attending all the sporting events they are involved in. Cheryl also loves serving others in our community in any way she can. 

Sabine Murray – Treasurer Board Term September 2018- September 2020, September 2020 – September 2023

Sabine is the Branch Manager for Bank of the San Juans and has been employed with the bank for 10 years. After having moved all over the United States with her military husband, she fell in love with Meeker, which still has the small town feeling and attitude. We welcomed Sabine to the board in 2018, who says “I think it’s important to give back to the community in any way that I can.” 


Alex Plumb Board Term September 2018- September 2021

As the Broker / Owner of Alpine West Properties Real Estate, Alex continuously promotes the Meeker community in every real estate transaction. Alex joined the board in 2018 and is committed to firming up our local economy while supporting all business growth. 


Andrea Gianinetti Board Term September 2020 -September 2023

Andrea and her husband Nick both grew up in Meeker and started Gianinetti’s Powersports Rentals in 2019. Andrea is also president of the Board of Directors for New Eden Pregnancy Care Services. She teaches piano lessons, is a volunteer youth sports coach, and a substitute teacher for Meeker School District. “I love all that our community has to offer.  At the Chamber, I hope to support local businesses to thrive, rather than just survive! 


Chance Walker Board Term: September 2020 – September 2022
Chance has lived in Meeker for 14 years, less a short stint on a ranch near Rifle. He transitioned careers from corporate operations to working for his family’s local small business last year, and it was the best decision he has ever made. He works with his family who owns Rio Blanco Herald Times and Chance of All Trades.
 “Small businesses are the lifeblood of a community. I’ve watched the ups and downs of Meeker’s business economy since living here at a young age. I want to be part of stabilizing and developing Meeker to ensure a bright future for my children and future generations”. 



Advisory Board Members

Kim Colflesh

Kim has been on the Meeker Chamber Board of Directors from 2006 to 2017. She is now on the Advisory Board. Kim’s strong background in finance and customer relations makes her an excellent member of the board. Kim is a Colorado native and has lived in Meeker since 2005. Kim does small bookkeeping jobs for local businesses and enjoys the small town and rural lifestyle of Meeker. She also assists her family on their cattle ranch near Rifle, Colorado.


Our Staff

Stephanie Kobald

Stephanie has lived in Meeker since 1999 and has been the Executive Director for the Chamber since 2013. She brings her strong creativity, marketing, graphic design, communications, public outreach, and relationship building skills to the organization. She manages the Main Street Program for Meeker (Project45) and is a member of the Colorado Main Street Advisory Board as the community representative. She also serves our community as a Board member of the Meeker Arts and Cultural Council, and HopeWest Meeker. In her free time, she likes to hike, yoga, snowshoe, and canoe.


Emily Mohr

Emily grew up in Meeker and graduated from Meeker High School. She moved to Gunnison to attend Western State Colorado University and graduated in 2018 with an undergraduate in Studio Art and then earned her masters in 2020 in Gallery Management and Exhibition Specialization before returning to Meeker. She brings a strong creative background in arts and culture, event planning, history, and community outreach. She looks forward to being a larger part of the community and sharing her talents with the people of Meeker. In her spare time, she enjoys art and crafting, recreating, and attending community events.
