Position: Tourism & Marketing Coordinator – Meeker Chamber of Commerce
Reports to: Executive Director
Starting Wage: $17/hour
FLSA Status: Part Time; Non-Exempt
Location: Meeker, Colorado
Schedule: 9 a.m.–5 p.m., some after hours and weekend time as necessary
Position Summary:
The Tourism & Marketing Coordinator promotes Meeker as a destination, supports local businesses, and enhances visitor experiences through marketing, events, and outreach. This role manages the Chamber’s communications, visitor services, and tourism initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote Meeker and local businesses.
- Manage the Chamber’s social media, website, and other communication platforms.
- Coordinate visitor services at the Chamber office and provide information to tourists.
- Plan and execute events, campaigns, and tourism initiatives.
- Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to enhance visitor experiences.
- Assist with grants or programs that support local tourism development.
- Maintain records of visitor inquiries, marketing activities, and event participation.
Qualifications:
- Experience in marketing, communications, or tourism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media and website management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the Meeker area and its attractions preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Creativity and initiative in marketing and event planning.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
