Each spring, Mary spends hours taking the students in grades 4-7 on Bird Walks for International Migratory Bird Day. She teaches the classes about habitats and protection for birds in the area and birds that are migrating through. Afterwards, she takes each class on a walk to Circle Park and helps them to identify dozens of species of birds. She has even received grants and purchased binoculars for the group so that each kid has the opportunity to have a pair to use on the trip. An activity that kids and teachers look forward to every year! This year, Mary is being recognized for 15 years of participation in the IMBD program. Mary also volunteers her time and expertise in many other ways in our community.

Mary definitely makes Meeker a better place to live!
